IQOS heated tobacco vaping devices are only compatible with heated tobacco sticks called TEREA and HEETS, which are made from a specially selected blend of real tobacco, purposefully designed to give an authentic experience and deliver cigarette-like satisfaction.

When smoking a cigarette, around two-thirds of the tobacco is used to fuel the combustion and therefore the nicotine net uptake comes from only one-third of the tobacco.

When using IQOS ILUMA, no combustion takes place. The heated TEREA tobacco stick maintains its integrity and this allows you to have the same nicotine uptake using less tobacco. At the same time, TEREA tobacco sticks taste different from cigarettes because the tobacco is heated rather than burned. By heating the tobacco, the true taste is released.
